BlueInGreen® was co-founded in 2004 by Scott Osborn and Marty Matlock in partnership with Virtual Incubation Company (www.virtual-incubation.com) with the mission of providing innovative new products for improving and maintaining water quality:

Dr. Scott Osborn, co-founder and President. Dr. Osborn acquired his B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kentucky and his Ph.D. in Bio/Ag Engineering from North Carolina State University. He is a licensed professional engineer. Dr. Osborn’s professional and research career has been geared toward an overall goal of incorporating living systems into engineering design. His basic knowledge of respiration processes, oxygen transport dynamics, numerical modeling techniques and engineering design of fluid-flow and thermodynamic systems has led to the creation of controlled oxygen transport systems in natural waterways. He is a co-inventor of BlueInGreen’s core technologies and was the chief engineering designer of the commercial version of the SDOX® product.

Dr. Marty Matlock, co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Matlock is a registered professional engineer, a Certified Senior Ecologist (Ecological Society of America), and Director of the Center for Rural and Agricultural Sustainability. He has a Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering from Oklahoma State University, an M.S. in Plant Physiology and a B.S. in Soil Chemistry. Dr. Matlock has performed wastewater treatability studies; managed aquatic toxicity testing; implemented and managed federal, state and regional water quality control criteria; designed water and wastewater treatment systems, and optimized treatment strategies for regulatory compliance. In addition to serving as CSO for BlueInGreen®, he is an Associate Professor of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Arkansas. His research at the University of Arkansas involves risk-based ecological and environmental systems analysis, development and analysis of bioindicators for aquatic ecosystems, and design of sustainable processes and communities. Dr. Matlock is past President of the American Ecological Engineering Society, a senior editor of the Journal of Biological Engineering, and serves on the National Environmental Engineering Core Competency Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He is a co-inventor of BlueInGreen’s core technologies.
