BlueInGreen Named Grand Prize Winner at GCCA Later Stage Awards
Arkansas-based water treatment company takes home top prize at 2015 Green Summit
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (November 18, 2015) - The Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA) named BlueInGreen, LLC the Grand Prize Winner at the 2015 Green Summit in Taipei, Taiwan last Tuesday. BlueInGreen was chosen out of 10,000 eligible companies as the global cleantech leader by the KeyStone Compact™ business assessment and a high-level investor jury, led by the University of Michigan's Dr. Peter Adriaens.
The 2015 GCCA Grand Prize reflects BlueInGreen's continued success at the forefront of the global cleantech market and celebrates the company's bold strides in helping the world achieve a low-carbon economy.
"Energy- and resource-efficient solutions are thriving throughout the world and proving to now be a major driver of economic growth," said Christian Haeuselmann, Co-Founder and Chairman of the GCCA. "The 2015 winners are proving that companies innovating in the new green economy are both investable and thriving. It is an honor to highlight them as true examples of success in our growing industry."
Co-founded by two University of Arkansas professors and VIC Technology Venture Development in 2004, BlueInGreen has expanded its core technology to include four flagship solutions: the SDOX® - for adaptable aeration, the CDOX® - for precise pH adjustment, the HyDOZ® - for dependable disinfection, and the SDOX-CS® - for optimized odor control. BlueInGreen also won the WEFTEC Innovative Technology Award in 2010.
"BlueInGreen has come a long way from a local startup to an international cleantech award winner," said Senior Vice President Chris Milligan. "From the designers to the engineers to the sales team, it's taken a lot of hard work from a lot of different people to get to where we are today, but we all know the best is yet to come."
BlueInGreen was initially nominated by the Arkansas Cleantech Cluster Association (ACCA) and was selected as a Top 30 Finalist for the 5th Annual GCCA Later Stage Awards in October. Each year, the Later Stage Awards serve as a cooperative venue for cleantech companies seeking investors and corporate partners to drive sustainable regional economic development on a global scale. The ACCA is scheduled to host the awards ceremony in Little Rock, Ark. in December 2016.
"Of the thousands of companies considered, hundreds of technologies nominated and dozens of finalists evaluated, it is a great honor to be named the GCCA Grand Prize Winner by Dr. Adriaens and his expert team of judges," said President John Kucharik. "This is more than just an award for BlueInGreen. It's validation and a vote of confidence in our technology innovation and the solutions we bring to the water cycle on a global basis."
